As a Lifelong lower mainland British Columbia resident ( raised on the Sunshine Coast ) and avid angler I have been enjoying some type of fishing most of my life, from Mooching live herring to chasing Steelhead up West Coast Rivers.
Like so many others Steelheading became my favorite. I’ve been lucky enough to fish up and down the pacific coast from Newport Oregon to Terrace B.C. At one point I could no longer get my hands on a favorite artificial bait, the manufacturer simply stopped producing it and eventually my supply ran dry, This is when I decided to take matters into my own hands and make my own. After much trial & error I had what I was missing.
I expanded my arsenal with varying colors, sizes, buoyancy, durability etc. , a few Steelheader friends began encouraging me to sell them. I blew it off at first, I had not considered this seriously but always felt good about what I was able to produce quality wise, after all I had been purchasing this stuff most of my life and know what’s out there competition wise , eventually I did some direct comparisons against the top artificial baits offered online and in stores, I then realized my soft plastics were as good if not better quality than even the big name companies, And so it began…
Unreel Tackle soft plastics are hand poured by me personally on Vancouver Island.
